I love the design templates and affordable prices of Mavook but can I get my website designed by you without signing up for your hosting?

We are so glad that you love our designs but unfortunately we cannot offer it to you without signing up for a hosting plan. We're able to charge such a low amount of money for the design service because some of the cost of creating and maintaining your website is worked into the price of hosting, specifically the Thrive Architect installation that's required of each template.

If you would like to use one of our templates on your own hosting, you would need to purchase your own Thrive Architect license ($230/year). If that's what you would prefer, you may contact us at sales@mavook.com to discuss pricing of just our templates.

What makes Mavook different from similar companies like Squarespace and Wix?

The key factor that makes us different is that we design the website for you. 

We work from templates that we’ve created specifically for your creative industry. We do this to not only make things go faster (which means you get your website done faster), but also so that you can get a visual of what your future website could look like.

With other companies like Wix and Squarespace, they’ll give you templates, but YOU have to be the one to figure out how to customize it with your branding, images, and content, which results in having to go through a huge learning curve of trying to figure out the platform, which takes time away from what you’re truly passionate about: creating.

So we take away that learning curve and take into account all of your needs and desires to design the website for you. And we achieve this through one-on-one communication between you and one of our trained web designers, all for the same low price of our design packages. Think about it like this…  Instead of paying thousands of dollars to have your website professionally designed, you can get the website of your dreams quickly at a fraction of the price when you do it through Mavook. 


How do I register a domain?

You can register your domain with agencies such Namecheap and GoDaddy for less than $10. Click here to learn more about that process.

Can I get any domain I want?

As long as it’s available for purchase on Namecheap or GoDaddy, then absolutely! The only other limitation is your spectacular imagination…

I already have a domain. How do I get my domain on Mavook hosting?

It’s as simple as changing the nameservers so that it points to our hosting service. You’ll be able to do this by yourself, or if you give us your username and password, we can do it for you for free. 

We will not share that information with anyone and you can feel free to change your password after we’ve completed the transfer. 

(Note: This step will be done after you’ve purchased one of our design packages and selected a hosting plan. We’ll then send you any information you need to get started on getting your domain on our hosting.)

Will Mavook pay for my domain?

Included in our pricing for our design packages is domain registration for the first year. Because you’ll likely be purchasing your domain through agencies like Namecheap or GoDaddy, all you have to do is send us your receipt after purchasing one of our design packages, and we’ll reimburse you that amount. 

(Note: Reimbursement of up to $15… Some domains cost more than that because current owners of the domain want to make some money off of it. The cost of registration for those domains are not included in our design packages.)

I don’t want to get my domain on Namecheap. Can I get my domain with Mavook?

Sure thing! Firstly, check to make sure your desired domain name is available then go ahead and purchase one of our design packages and select your hosting plan. When one of our web designers reaches out to you about proceeding, he/she will ask about your domain. At which time you can say that you’d like to register for a specific one through us.

(Note: After the first year, we charge a $4 fee each year to renew with us.)



Do I have to choose a template in my industry, or can I pick any?

You can absolutely pick any template that you want! We separate our templates by creative industry to make it easier for you to picture what a typical website in your industry looks like. But you can choose whichever one you’d like!

How much customization can I get with the template?

The level of customization depends on the design package that you choose. Click here to check out our pricing and see more information about our three design packages.

Can I change the names and purposes of each of the pages?

You certainly can! In each of our templates we have multiple pages designed to achieve a cohesive look throughout the website. If you like the design of the “Contact” page but want it for your “Services” page, then that’s no problem. You’ll be given the opportunity to arrange that when talking with your website designer.

Do you offer logo design services?

Yes, we do! Logo design services is one of several different add-on services that we offer our members (those who have had a website designed by us and are on our hosting). And if you’re on our Small Business Hosting Plan, you can even get 15% off those add-on services!

What if I need to make design changes to my website in the future?

You can do this one of two ways…

1. You can make the changes yourself. The design software we use, Thrive Architect, is user friendly and easy to learn and use. With our Advanced and Small Business Hosting Plans, you’ll have access to Thrive Architect tutorials where you can learn how to make simple changes to your website.

2. Or you can contact your web designer and have him/her make any changes you need. Keep in mind though that this will be at an additional cost. Members on our Advanced or Small Business Hosting Plans can get up to 15% off of add-on services like additional design work.



Does hosting include an SSL certificate?

Yes, it does! Each of our three hosting plans offer a free SSL certificate year round. An SSL certificate is what makes your http into an https. It’s what Google uses to know if a website is secure and legit. Website visitors will see a “lock” icon in the search bar next to the website that will assure them that the site is secure and safe to use.

What kind of site security can I get for my website?

Thanks to your SSL, your site will automatically be secure for your visitors, and our secure hosting servers will automatically keep your website safe and sound.

In our Advanced and Small Business Hosting Plans, we also offer a Daily Site Scanner that scans your website for malicious software everyday and reports any suspicious activity. This is a great way of getting ahead of any potential problems before they become an issue.

What if I have a technical problem?

In addition to a knowledge based forum in our support area, we also offer a 24/7 support ticket system that you can use to report any technical problems or ask for help. We have a fast turn around time which depending on the issue, could be less than one business day! 

In our Basic Hosting Plan, members are allowed one support ticket each week. But in our Advanced and Small Business Hosting Plans, members can benefit from unlimited support tickets.

Can I upgrade or downgrade my hosting plan at any time?

Yes, you can! We pride ourselves in not requiring any year long contracts or annual billing cycles. Everything is on a month-to-month basis. This means that you can easily upgrade or downgrade your hosting plan at any time.

Keep in mind that if you go from the Small Business Plan to the Advanced or Basic Plans, you will lose e-commerce capabilities on your website.



What payment methods can I integrate with my shop?

With our e-commerce solution, you can utilize either PayPal, Stripe, or both to accept payments. Stripe is a payment gateway that mainly accepts credit/debit cards, while PayPal can accept payments from a PayPal account. PayPal can also accept credit/debit cards, but many customers don’t know that and may opt out of their cart if they don’t have a PayPal account because they think that they need one. Hence why having both can be the perfect solution.

How much can I customize in the e-commerce store?

You can customize pretty much anything you can think of… Whether that be the main store page look/layout, the product page, product images, product options (like for sizes and colors), product descriptions, and store labels.

How many products can I have in the Small Business Hosting Plan?

Our e-commerce solution in our Small Business Hosting Plan includes up to 100 products (either digital, physical, or a mix). If you think you’ll need more, contact us at sales@mavook, and we’ll discuss other options.

Can I set up an automatic tax calculator?

Yes! Our e-commerce solution does the hard work for you when it comes to collecting sales tax. All you have to do is turn it on and determine what regions/areas you will be selling to.

Can I have multiple product images?

Yes, you can! You can not only feature more than one photo on your product page, but you can also feature an additional product photo on the main store page when someone hovers their mouse over the image.

Can I collect email addresses to add to my mailing list through the checkout process?

Yes, you can! You can do this either automatically or add an opt-in option that your customer can select at checkout.

Can I sell e-gift cards?

Yes, you can! In addition to creating coupon codes, you can also create e-gift cards that your customers can purchase, which will be emailed to them and feature a code the card holder will use at checkout.

In fact, our founder, Maverick Moses, is a published indie author. While exposing himself to the writing community on Instagram, he noticed the struggle that other writers had when it came time to create a website for themselves. So he wanted to create a one-stop-shop for writers and other creative individuals where they can get a beautiful website designed by a professional at ultra-affordable prices. Because he knew that money isn’t exactly a luxury many Creatives have when they are first starting out.
